Journal 6

My name is [redacted] I work for Ididian Containment as a low level security officer. To pass the time I've been making these journals during shifts, little sketches of what I see here every night.

If you are reading this, something has happened to me...
And you are in grave danger.

Journal 6:
Today’s shift was pretty weird; I met the field leader/captain of the SRC (Supernatural Response and Capture), real silent badass type. Captain C. Montgomery Maul. All security was interviewed one by one (felt more like an interrogation to me) about our feelings towards the Contained and general feelings for the company. I was asked the questions by Human Resources Bill (whom interviewed me when I got the job) in a dark room; all this while Captain Maul stood in the corner; almost completely covered in darkness. I remembered enough of his features to draw my sketch, that cold stare and horrible scar being the stand outs. After my “interview” was over I asked Jim my supervisor about him. Jim (who’s been here 5-EVER btw) says he was here even before he started.
All he knows is rumors and gossip that are passed among the lower level security. Maul used to be a small town sheriff in [redacted], apparently had a rough life. Parents died of mysterious causes, always bullied in school, lost his wife 4 weeks after their wedding to [redacted]. Held down the sheriff gig for a while till a creature (later a Contained) wreaked havoc on the small town of [redacted]. This thing apparently was a level 5… An extinction level creature; Wiped out the whole town… save one man.
C. Montgomery Maul.
How he did it is still lost to time, but apparently through shear will and determination, he did what was considered impossible and defeated this thing (Says the Ididian Containment holds it on the lowest levels with other heavily dangerous Contained, Shit, I do not want to go down there) Apparently Ididian gave him a choice. Go on, retire, never speak of what he saw, and Ididian would cover his expenses for the rest of his days…
Or,
Take a job working for them.
To this day, his team has captured over 254 Contained (another of which I hear was another level 5) lost only 25 men, and is highly decorated (Ididian isn’t attached to the military as far as I know, so who knows what he meant by that) Just works every day, no matter how hard things have gotten for him.

Guess some men are just born the hard way…

Journal 5:
This one is a sweetie; despite is monstrous size (about 2 meters) Containment #58456 is really calm. So this thing is a vegetarian and usually just sits in a cornor most of the time during my shift. The company doesn’t even have him in the more high tech cells. Pretty dormant most of the time, I usually just feed him some cabbages from home.

No one knows how he’s floating though…

Eggheads upstairs said the found him in [redacted] just wandering the woods. Scarred a few campers, but the the SRC (Supernatural Response and Capture) were able to bring him in with very little hassle.

I think I’ll name this guy, Smiley.

Journal 4:
So my supervisor Jim had me shadow him on his shift in the higher danger level areas of the building. Some stuff was pretty weird, I may write/draw about them some other time. This one however, Contained #15478, was beautiful. I asked Jim if we could take our lunch break near its cell so I could sketch it. He allowed this; seeing as it was a lower level risk than the others. He went on to explain that it was a statue, not a creature. One of many non-biological items in the Containment buildings, Contained #15478 was sculpted in [redacted] by the artist [redacted] before their death.
So the weird part, this was sculpted with the artist’s fingernails…
Seems something caused him to go insane and rip out his own fingernails, maw them to a point and sculpt for 9 days with no food or rest.
The statue is pretty safe as compared to other things in this building .( Found out during lunch what the highest danger level creature in the building was, pretty horrifying shit, hope I never have to see it) Apparently its only here while they try and figure out what drove the artist [redacted] to such lengths.
Crazy part, before he died of exhaustion, the artist said he didn’t even remember making it.

In any case it was beautifully sculpted and I just had to capture it…

Journal 3:
Today I was asked by a higher ranking (and pretty attractive) science officer to accompany them to feed Contained #14562. This one is way above my usual danger level and was briefed for an hour for this simple 2 minute excursion. Seems this thing is from [redacted] and apparently aspects of the religious texts of [redacted] and [redacted] are true.
The main thing about Contained #14562 is that it never moves. It’s under constant surveillance; seems that it remains inert until a biological entity comes within at least 7 meters of it. When within range, it becomes active, At which point if living eyes (more on this in a second, cause its trippy) are not within constant vision of it, it skins and “debones” all biological matter in the area.
My job was to basically stare at the thing for 2 minutes ( I found blinking one eye at a time helped) while the science officer left a living pig for it to devour. Apparently the damn thing has to be feed 2 times a month, as per [redacted] customs.
When I asked why not just send drones or robot in with the big, they explained, that while contained #14562 was motionless, they believe it is biding its time for an escape. We don’t know if it can decipher between humans and non-humans, but don’t want to risk it.
This thing has the potential of wiping out the whole building and the surrounding countryside in less than an hour if left unchecked.
Can you believe this crazy F’ing thing is only ranked a 3 danger level (out of 5, 5 being the highest)

Hope I never have to go to the lower floors and see the higher ranked containments…

Journal 2:
This one is a weird one, it’s a class 3 danger level (out of 5, 5 being the highest) and it’s on my shift. I was instructed to never enter it’s containment alone. So I was talking to some of the SRC (Supernatural Response and Capture) officers that brought it in about it. They say the damn thing used to be a beautiful witch that would lure men to it’s den and consume them to stay young and attractive. Did this for about 300 years, tell it got to [redacted]. Bitch took out an entire small town, at least 128 victims before it was brought down. Funny enough, the SRC didn’t defeat, they just collected the thing. Turns out she was beaten by a group of kids trying to save their parents.
Our futures indeed…
The officers told me as the kids were about to defeat her, she turned into this form as a last ditch effort to kill them. Obviously, she failed. When SRC got to [redacted] they bagged and tagged her and brought her here. Mostly sleeps during the day and claws and screams at the 2 way mirrors at night. Apparently turning into this thing used the last of her magic, so she’s stuck this way.

Rather ironic considering what she had been killing for…

Journal 1:
Grown pretty attached to this one since I started working her a few months ago. The SRC (Supernatural Response and Capture) brought him in the same day i started. the creatures and objects here don't have names, mearly numbers on their cells. This one name is "Contained #12445". It's cell is the closest to my desk so i see it while doing my reports. It is classified as a very low risk so I'm never too worried about it. (unlike other contained here) usually just sits in the corner shaking, tends to make moaning nosies every now and then when one of its puss sacks burst, but other than that, harmless. One of the SRC officers told me never to go in its room unattended though. Something about it having a foul order that can melt human organs, lost two comrades and a small town trying to catch the thing. Have to keep it in vacuum sealed room to protect the rest of the floor and the building. If its so dangerous why is my desk just around the corner from it? I'm sure its just hazing the newbie nonsense though...

I've decided to name this one Bobby.

Comics Jenny 30

meet Comics Jenny her power is any comic she touches she gains the powers and abilities of any one character in the comic, and can only use each comic once. Can be good, can be bad, touch a Superman comic... might get Kryptonian powers, might get reporter powers from Lois Lane. :/ always a gamble. how this works for me is everyday i go the the random power generator and create a persona based on the role. No re-rolls unless its one that has been done already... lets see what happens.
